Gavin Black

Gavin Black was a founding partner of Swaisland Black & Partners in 1973 and Gavin Black & Partners in 1979, before merging with Chesterton in 1987, becoming Managing Director of Chesterton’s Commercial Division and Deputy Chairman from 1992-2003.  Gavin Black & Partners, which was re-established in October 2003, then merged with Naylors in 2019, becoming Naylors Gavin Black.

Gavin was Chairman of Northumbria University from 1996 to 2009.  He is currently Deputy Chairman of NE1 Limited, the Business Improvement District Company for Newcastle City Centre, Chairman of the Central Station Gateway Project which deals with regeneration in and around the Station.  He is also Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Charlotte Straker Care Home.

Gavin’s skills include strategic property advice, development advice including funding, acquisition and disposal of commercial property investments and consultancy advice in all aspects of commercial property.
