Gateshead office building attracts growing North East agency
August 2018
Commercial property specialist Naylors has announced an office letting in Gateshead, which will see the relocation of one of the region’s largest digital marketing agencies.
Mediaworks, which has been located at Team Valley since its inception in 2007, will relocate its team of around ninety staff to Honeycomb at The Watermark to accommodate ongoing expansion.
The second floor of the building, which extends to 10,000 sq.ft, has been acquired by the firm on a 10-year lease.
Jersey-based Palladium Group acquired the building in 2017, which is also home to Tyne Tees Television.
The property investment specialist has since invested over £400,000 in a major refurbishment programme to provide state-of-the-art office accommodation complete with new LED lighting, shower facilities and air conditioning.
Jessica Ross, associate director at Naylors said: “Over the last twelve months we have seen a significant transformation take place at Honeycomb and this work has culminated in the letting to Mediaworks.
“Naylors has been heavily involved in the project, acting as manging agent, building consultant and joint letting agent, so we are very pleased to welcome an established regional business such as Mediaworks.”
Palladium Group’s chairman Spencer Bourne said: “We are delighted to have Mediaworks as our new tenant at Honeycomb Gateshead. The building will provide them with a fantastic platform to attract and retain talented people and will allow them to build on their success to date.
“This is our fifth Honeycomb site and we are actively looking to expand our brand further into other regional cities”
Naylors and Knight Frank are the appointed joint letting agents for Honeycomb.
