Naylors fly the flag for the North East at MIPIM 2017
March 2017
In March Naylors attended MIPIM, the annual property conference, for the first time and as part of the Invest Newcastle delegation.
The 4 day event which is held at the Palais de Festivals in Cannes is regarded as the premier real estate conference and gathers the most influential players from all sectors of the international property industry.
Over 22,000 property professionals attended the event this year to take part in networking, conferences and seminars in a range of dedicated exhibition zones.
Fergus Laird and Chris Donabie represented Naylors as part of an Invest Newcastle delegation which made included Newcastle Council Chief Executive, Pat Ritchie, Tom Warburton and Michelle Percy of Newcastle Council, as well as representatives from companies including Arch, Hanro, Adderstone & Space Architecture.
Commenting on his MIPIM experience Fergus said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to network with other Invest Newcastle delegates and to promote the region as a part of a co-ordinated team. With so many people in attendance it enabled us to meet with existing clients, prospective clients, investors and developers, not just from the UK but around the world. It is a spectacular setting and stepping aboard some of the incredible yachts was a particular highlight for me!”
Chris Donabie added “It was a very busy but enjoyable week and with some glorious weather! As well as networking we attended a number of lectures and presentations to find out more about up and coming trends within the industry such as Barton Wilmore’s lecture: ‘Industry and Homes – How the Two can Co-exist’ with Pat Ritchie and the Managing Director of Harworth Estates on the panel. There were a number of celebrity guests in attendance too, with footballers Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville part of the Manchester team and cricketers Freddie Flintoff and Jonny Bairstow taking part with the delegation from Leeds.”
